Get Your God Complexes Ready: The Sims is Coming to iOS and Android

Just in case Pokemon Go! wasn’t eating up enough of your data, EA’s The Sims, the new millennium’s favorite way to play god, is also coming to iOS and Android. Called The Sims Mobile, this iteration of the game will reportedly be closer to the desktop original than previous mobile and tablet versions.

To start, players will create their own customizable Sims. According to Sims Community, whose users tested out the soft launch in Brazil, the options for customizing aren’t super expansive yet – but that could just be true for this initial run. Once players have created their Sim, they can earn experience points by having them interact with other Sims and the wider playable world.

It seems like The Sims Mobile will emphasize these social playing aspects. Players are encouraged to use their Sims’ houses as social spaces, since the game rewards you for “host[ing] and attend[ing] parties with other Sims to socialize, show off your amazing house, earn rewards, and develop new relationships.” In addition, players will need to remain active when their Sims are working at a career; for example, a barista Sim will need to attend to customers actively.

Unlike in the desktop game, the Sims’ needs – hunger, etc. – aren’t dependent on raw time, but on activities. The more time your Sim spends working, or socializing, the more water, food, and rest they’ll need.

You can read more about the game at the official website or at Sims Community.

Are you excited to play this new version of The Sims Mobile? Or would you rather leave your dark days of manipulating computer-people in the past?
